Course Issues

Making a change to your course

Sometimes students need to make changes to their studies during their time at university. You may find that you have chosen the wrong pathway or perhaps you have signed up to modules that you are not enjoying. There are options available to you. Find more information and guidance on our page about making a change to your course.

Improving your academic performance

You may be happy on your course and feel confident that you wish to continue, but the feedback and grades you are receiving are not what you would hope for. There can be many reasons why students find they have not done as well as expected but there is lots of advice and support available to help improve your academic skills and maximise your potential. You can access this support on our Study Skills page.

Considering a new direction

If you find that you are not enjoying your course and want to explore your options further, you may find it helpful to meet with a careers adviser: find out about arranging a career appointments. The Careers and Employability Service also have lots of resources available in firstpoint and on the Careers webpages.

Other sources of support

It may be that difficulties arise as the result of a disability. There is lots of support available to help you; visit the Disability & Dyslexia webpages.

Students may struggle with academic demands because of problems and issues outside of their studies. These issues can be difficult and ongoing but there is support available through the Student Support & Wellbeing and Counselling & Mental Health services to help you try to manage these situations.
