These pages should provide you with all the information you need as a researcher at the University of Worcester. Here, you can find information on: how to find and apply for research funding; how to ensure the effective delivery of your project; opportunities to undertake research degrees and to become a research degree supervisor; the wealth of training and development available for researchers; the University's research governance structures and policies, in particular its ethics policy and associated approval processes; and its strategy for research, in particular its approach to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Support for researchers at the University of Worcester is embedded in many of its Professional Service departments but is explicitly provided by two specific departments:

  • The Research Office provides support for researchers in developing bids for external funding and the effective delivery of funded projects, as well as managing various internal research support schemes. It works closely with Finance in all aspects of its work, as well as with Institute Research leads.
  • The Research School oversees the University's research degree programmes (PhD, Professional Doctorate, MPhil, MRes) and provides researcher development for researchers at all stages of their career.
