International Student Hardship Fund
The International Student Hardship Fund is to help international students in year 2 or above, with an unexpected financial difficulty requiring one-off short-term help to avoid it impacting on their success at university. Applicants must demonstrate that reasonable provision to fund fees and living costs has been made.
Eligibility
Who can apply?
You must be an International student, in year 2 or above, registered on a course at the University of Worcester.
*Please note: EU students eligible for Home Fee status should apply to the Access to Learning Fund instead.
The International Student Hardship Fund is limited and not all applicants will receive financial help.
FAQ’S
Q. Is it only for Undergraduate students?
A. You can apply if you are an Undergraduate or Postgraduate student.
Q. Is it only for full time students?
A. You can apply if you are studying full time, part time, or as a distance learner. Part time students must be studying at a minimum rate of 25% of a full-time course in order to be eligible.
Q. Can the fund help with my tuition fees?
A. No. applicants to the fund must be in good financial standing with the university e.g. fee payments.
Q. How long will it take to process my application?
A. Applications will take up to four working weeks to process, from the date that the application is received correctly completed and with all necessary evidence/information.
Q. Can I apply even if I haven’t been in regular attendance at university?
A. No, applicants must be in regular attendance where reasonably possible.

Completed application forms and copies of all the supporting evidence (translated into English) should be emailed to: moneyadvice@worc.ac.uk
It is essential that you check that your bank details are correct on your SOLE page before submitting your application - any funds awarded will be paid into this bank account.
Please note, funds can only be paid into a UK bank / building society account.
Points to Remember
- Applicants must already have started their course.
- You must be able to demonstrate that you have made realistic provision to fund your tuition and living costs before starting the academic year.
- You must be in Year 2 or above (Year 1 students are not eligible to apply)
- All the supporting evidence requested in the International Student Hardship Fund Guidance Notes MUST be provided, to avoid delaying the student's application.
- All supporting documentation must be translated into English.
- The fund is limited and cannot always make up the whole of a student's financial short fall.
- The fund cannot be used to help students pay their tuition fees.
