New to Teaching in HE Workshops
Aimed specifically at those staff who are starting off in higher education teaching as an associate lecturer, technician or post-graduate student, these workshops are run over two days and provide an opportunity to discuss ways of encouraging student learning, assessment and potential challenges, all of which previous attendees have found invaluable.
These are also open to registered lecturers employed by partner organisations. There are no fees for these workshops.
In brief, the workshops cover:

selecting and evaluating appropriate approaches to teaching and supporting learning for their discipline and situations

treating students as individual learners

class and student interaction with assessment strategies

feedback

dealing with challenging teaching situations

introduction to The Worcester Scheme
Workshops are running on the following dates:
Day 1 of this workshop series is specifically aimed at those staff who are starting off in higher education teaching, perhaps in their first appointment as associate lecturers, technicians or post-graduate students.

Day 2 focuses predominantly on our remote and online teaching tools and how to provide effective content and support to students even when not able to meet and study in person. This would also be useful for those who attended one of our previous New to Teaching one-day workshops.
