Retention and Student Success

Academic Quality Unit: The role of the Academic Quality Unit (AQU) is to develop and manage the quality assurance and enhancement mechanisms of the University, including course planning and approval, periodic review and annual evaluation processes, the approval and review of partnership organisations, the appointment of and provision of information for external examiners and the servicing of Academic Board subcommittees related to quality and collaborative programmes.

Inclusion Toolkit: The Inclusion Toolkit has been designed as a set of resources to support embedding inclusion across all aspects of learning and teaching at the University of Worcester. It is intended to provide guidance and supporting information for staff. By adopting an inclusive approach to all aspects of the student experience at the University, we aim to inspire all our students to work hard and achieve their full potential.

Peer-Supported Review of Teaching: This policy sets out the objectives, expectations and principles that underpin peer-supported review of teaching (PSRT) at the University. Responsibility for implementing PSRT is devolved to Schools (and professional support departments that wish to implement such a scheme). Guidance on implementing a scheme at School/Departmental level is also included.

SCALE Project: Student Centred Adult Learning Engagement in Higher Education (SCALE) is aimed at supporting lecturers delivering degree level courses in universities, colleges and other educational providers. It provides the opportunity to identify, develop, share and promote best practice through this open and accessible online learning environment (toolkit).

Study Skills: The Study Skills page collates a range of key resources and contacts aimed at helping students to be successful in their studies at the University, including a 'quick skills check' and guidance such as 'Reading for your assignments', 'Writing your assignments', and 'Managing your workload and reducing stress'.

Support for Technical Proficiency in English (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar - SPG): This document is intended to signpost you to a variety of websites, resources and videos which can be shared with students to support them in developing technical proficiency in English.

Technology Enhanced Learning Unit: The Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Unit sits within the broader Library Services Department and provides a specialist service which supports staff in the planning, development and implementation of the use of technologies to enhance the student experience and support learning, teaching and assessment.
