Information for Parents

Concerned about your child?

If you have concerns about your child, you may wish to speak to a member of the CMH service. However, due to the code of confidentiality, we are unable to share any information that students disclose to us without explicit consent from the student, including whether or not the student has engaged with our service. Nevertheless, you can be reassured that support is available to students, and any reported concerns will normally be followed by a wellbeing check.

What can you do?
  • Be there and listen to them
  • Encourage them to seek help by:
    • booking a STAR (Support, Triage, Advice, Refer) appointment via firstpoint.  Appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9-4:30pm.
    • Visiting their GP
  • If they require immediate support:
    • Encourage them to book a STAR Triage appointment via firstpoint. There are two Triage Sessions available to book daily, via firstpoint.  These urgent sessions can only be booked up to 24-hours in advance.
    • Call 999 in an emergency
    • Encourage them to look at the external sources of help available.
