Welcome to firstpoint’s staff information page
firstpoint is dedicated to helping students access information and support throughout their studies. We have designed our webpages to provide them with guidance, advice and information to assist them on their journey and navigate the complexities of student life.
The information is grouped into topics, which you can see listed in the menu to the left. There is also a comprehensive A-Z to help guide users to a particular issue or query. We hope that these webpages will be a useful resource to both students and staff.
We understand that supporting students can be a challenging task, whatever your role at the University of Worcester, and it's important for staff to quickly and confidently direct students to the advice and support they need, when they need it. For that reason, we have highlighted two staff-specific resources below, but if you have any questions about how to refer a student to firstpoint or to find out more about an area of support, please do not hesitate to contact us, ether by emailing email@example.com, phoning ext: 2551 or popping into the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre.
- One of the resources available is the booklet Signposting Student Support: A Guide for University Staff. The guide covers a range of the support available from Student Services and other sources, focusing particularly on those services and situations we are most frequently asked about by colleagues.
It outlines some of the key signs and behaviours to look out for to help you spot a student who may need additional support, provides practical guidance on what action you might need to take, and finally indicates what might happen once a referral is made.

firstpoint has also created an "Information for Staff" poster, which can be downloaded below in either A3 or A4 size.
The poster has been designed to give a quick, visual prompt to the areas of student life where firstpoint can offer guidance and support, and staff can feel free to refer the student directly to us.
It also features some quick tips related to our most frequently asked questions, as well as our contact details and social media accounts.
