Support for International Students
Support is available for any student with a long-term physical, mental health, or sensory condition, or with a specific learning difference such as dyslexia.
Any condition that has lasted 12 months or longer, or is likely to last 12 months or longer, will make you eligible for support if affects your ability to do day-to-day activities.
Examples of conditions we often support students with include:
- Fibromyalgia, or other conditions that cause pain.
- Hypermobility.
- Cerebral palsy, or other conditions that can limit your mobility.
- Anxiety.
- Depression.
- EUPD.
- PTSD.
- Visual impairments.
- Hearing impairments.
- Autistic spectrum conditions (ASC)
- ADHD.
- Dyslexia.
- Dyspraxia.
The exact adjustments you will be eligible for depends on your condition and how it impacts you. An adjustment aims to remove or minimise any barriers you may experience because of the condition.
Common adjustments may include exam adjustments, such as extra time or being able to type your answers, or adjustments in lectures, such as different types of furniture.
When agreed, adjustments are recorded on a Reasonable Adjustment Plan, which is then shared with your academic team.
Before any adjustments can be agreed we need supporting documents confirming your diagnosis. These documents may be letters from your doctor or reports from a specialist.
Documents do not need to be in English, as we can use online translation services, such as Google or Microsoft Translate.
Email electronic copies of your documents to disability@worc.ac.uk and book an appointment with a Disability Adviser to discuss your support needs. Click here to book an appointment.
If you only have paper copies of your documents, then it is ok to email photos provided we can see the whole of each page and we can still read the text.
