Settling In

We understand that starting University is exciting and new. Sometimes you may need a little help settling in and getting used to the way things work.

We want you to feel welcome and you will find lots of information to help you when you first arrive, on the Welcome To Worcester webpages. Here you will find guidance on everything from where to park, where to eat, accessing budgeting advice or how to enrol. You can even find out a little about the campus cat! If you need help finding your way around; you can access maps for all campuses on our Campus Information pages.


  • Returning to study after a break? The University have a dedicated Return to Study page providing guidance for you. 
     
  • Settling in can be daunting but there are lots of things you can do to make it easier.  If you're feeling homesick, that is perfectly normal, so please don't worry. You can chat to your Personal Academic tutor, contact firstpoint, or our Student Support and Wellbeing Team for more support.
     
  • Looking for ways to meet others? Why not join one of our regular fancy-a-cuppa events and of course, the Worcester Students' Union have lots of information about events and societies where you can take up a new hobby and make new friends.
     
  • We know that living away from home for the first time can be daunting and our residential life team have a Settling in to Your New Home guide which covers everything you need to know about living in University managed accommodation.  
     
  • The Library Services team have provided New Student Essentials: resources and guides for new students to help you find your way around.
     
  • IT Service have created a guide for Starting with the University, with useful hints and tips to get you started.
