Feeling lonely or homesick

It is not unusual to feel lonely or homesick at University, even though you are surrounded by people. Please do not worry, you are not alone and we are here to help. 

  • If you are struggling to meet people or make friends, why not consider joining one of the many clubs and societies offered by the Worcester Students Union? You can even try it out before you commit! Visit the Give it a Go webpage for more information.
     
  • You might want to join Fancy a Cuppa; a chance to meet other students in an informal setting, twice a week during term time and you might find the Pets as Therapy Dogs join you for a chat.
     
  • The Student Support and Wellbeing team can also offer advice and support during these times, please don't suffer in silence, make contact and let us help. 
     
  • If you think that your feelings of loneliness or homesickness are become something more serious and you are concerned for your mental health, remember that you can book a STAR appointment with the Counselling and Mental Health team.
     
  • If you live on campus, the Security team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
