Student Wellbeing Champions

Our Student Wellbeing Champions play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our students. As current students themselves, they are uniquely positioned to promote the importance of self-care, raise awareness of the available support services, and foster a sense of community across all our campuses.

The Student Wellbeing Champions are a diverse team of students from various backgrounds, who are undertaking different levels of study and bringing a wide range of life experiences to their roles.  They help co-ordinate and host social and casual support groups, such as "Fancy a Cuppa?" where students can engage in informal conversations and build connections, and they support wellbeing campaigns and events that help to raise awareness about important topics to their peers.

Through face-to-face conversations, events, and publications, including online and social media platforms, the Student Wellbeing Champions help to ensure that their fellow students are aware of the University's student support services, and work across all campuses to ensure the visibility of information, services and campaigns.

Being a Student Wellbeing Champion is an exceptional opportunity for those passionate about fostering a supportive and inclusive university community. Through their efforts, our Student Wellbeing Champions contribute to the work of the Student Support and Wellbeing Service, helping us to ensure that every student has access to the resources and support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

The role also offers flexible work opportunities for current University of Worcester students, and provides an opportunity to build skills in areas such as:

  • Time management
  • A positive attitude
  • Team working
  • Problem solving
  • Communication

Where they have specific interests or skills, such as communication design, online content development, student support or events planning, there are often opportunities for the Student Wellbeing Campions to develop and gain experience in these areas.
