Exclusivity of Service
The University encourages external work that supports professional responsibilities.
Before entering into an obligation to undertake any external work, including consultancy, you must inform your Head of Department. The University will then decide if that work will interfere with the performance of professional responsibilities; or compete or conflict with the interests of the University.
The University may at its sole discretion require you not to undertake the work; such a requirement will not be made unreasonably, will be subject to full consultation with you and will be accompanied by full written reasons for it.
Where it is intended to use the facilities of the University in connection with external work, you must seek and confirm prior approval from your Head of Department.
