New Staff Information

 

Starting a new role can be a daunting process and we want to make you feel comfortable and at ease as quickly as possible.When you arrive you will meet a member of your team (normally your line manager) who will show you the location where you will be based and introduce you to the team.

 

 

It is suggested that during the first day you gradually read through this induction site. This will act as both an overview of the induction period but also a signpost to provide you with background knowledge of some of the key University’s processes including; where to send your documents, what benefits are available to you, the University’s expectations of members of staff, information about the University’s future plans and objectives and the locations of sites around Worcester.

 
Your Induction at the University of Worcester is made up of several parts;
  • A short HR Welcome & IT Induction (Information Security Awareness Training)
  • This Online Induction
  • Your Departmental Induction process (This will be organised by your line manager)
  • Completion of Essential Online Training, including: UCISA Information Security Awareness, Health & Safety, Diversity in the Workplace and GDPR training on LearnUpon. Staff are responsible for ensuring their training is up to date. Courses expire after two years and we advise making a reminder in your outlook calendar.
  • Attending the University Staff Induction and for those whose roles are closely involved with students and research there is an Induction Programme. Details available on our workshop bookings pagesThe University Staff Induction and the TRSE Induction take place three times a year: January, May and September. You will receive a personal invitation nearer the time with the location; it would be helpful if you could keep the date in your diary free.
